Kununurra Country Club Resort - FINALIST
Kunununrra Country Club Resort was recently announced as a finalist in the Australia's North West Tourism Awards held in Fitzroy Crossing. The awards celebrate the range of outstanding professional tour and accommodation operators in the North West region. As an entrant in the Tourism Western Australia accommodation category, Kununurra Country Club Resort was amongst a strong field of finalists.
Million dollar refurbishment for Aspen Resorts’ iconic East Kimberley property.
With a million dollar refurbishment complete, the new look Kununurra Country Club Resort takes centre stage as Kununurra’s premier Resort destination.
During February and March of 2009, the four star Resort’s 90 rooms underwent a total refurbishment, complete with modern manchester and furnishings, state of the art wooden plantation blinds, tasteful artwork, lamps, LCD flat screen television, DVD player and in-house movies.
The contemporary design capitalises on the amazing lush tropical surrounds to bring the ‘outside in’, providing guests a feeling of utter relaxation, seclusion and a unique appreciation for this incredible destination.
The refurbishment was completed in time for the opening of the 2009 tourist season and overseen by Resort manager Mr Chris Peereboom and assistant manager Ray Bright. This dynamic new management team, who bring more than 25 years of hospitality experience, have already had a major impact on accelerating quality and service, doubling customer service efforts and introducing new weekly events at the Resorts’ bars.
Resort Manager Chris Peereboom said now that the Resort upgrades have reinvigorated the Resort and firmly cemented its position as the most highly sought-after East Kimberley accommodation.

Kelly’s Bar and Grill
Award-winning Kelly’s Bar and Grill has been revamped with stylish décor and a delicious new menu, to heighten the experience of Kununurra’s premier dining venue. The new menu demonstrates resident Chef Matthew Salt’s innovative style and culinary creativity with the region’s best seasonal produce.
The menu includes a range of delicious taste temptations from the jumbo scallops served with goats cheese and prosciutto to the Outback Risotto filled with barramundi, crocodile, scallops and prawns.
The restaurant, which is popular with both locals and tourists, and is consistently one of the busiest restaurants in town and the menu is changed regularly to ensure that repeat visitors will have something new and exciting to try.
Guests are encouraged to stay a little longer in the friendly surrounds and indulge in a delicious dessert with coffee; the new look, new taste Kelly’s Bar and Grill is the perfect spot to enjoy a relaxing, tropical Kununurra evening.
Functions
With an onsite restaurant, three bars and a host of other facilities, Kununurra Country Club Resort is an ideal venue for your next function, be it corporate, or social, from grand to intimate. The Resort provides a unique and colourful destination for a wedding and our modern, fully equipped corporate function spaces make the perfect setting for business functions. The Resort’s function room facilities have the capacity to host 150 guests.
Since our refurbishments, 2009 has been our biggest year for functions to date; we have hosted more functions than any other year. This success is due to the efforts of some dedicated function coordinators, as well as the consistently creative and practical efforts by our team in the kitchen. Leading up to the end of the year, the Country Club will be heavily booked out with Christmas Functions.
Festive Fridays
As the weather warms up in Kununurra, so will the Festivities at the Boab Pool Bar every Friday night. What better way to celebrate the end of a long working week than enjoy a gourmet pizza and contemplate our new cocktail menu, as you relax by the lush tropical setting of the Pool Bar.
